PUBLIC NOTICE
Amendment of Zoning Ordinance
Take notice that an ordinance to zone property will be considered by the Center Point City Council pursuant to § 11-52-77 and 78 of the Code of Alabama.
More specifically, the Center Point City Council will hold a public hearing on a proposed ordinance to amend the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Center Point, Alabama. The public hearing will be held during Planning & Zoning Meeting, on April 21, 2022, at 6:30 PM, in the City Council Chambers located at Center Point City Hall, 2209 Center Point Parkway, in Center Point, Alabama 35215.
Physical copies of the proposed ordinance may be inspected in advance at the Center Point City Hall in the Clerk’s Office. The proposed ordinance is also available for public inspection online at www.cityofcenterpoint.org
The proposed changes to the Zoning Ordinance related to “that district C-1 (Commercial) that restricts Church storefronts to two (2) within C-1 as to commercial storefront (plaza) property(ies) in the City.
The following is a summary of the nature and scope of the proposed changes to the Zoning Ordinance. The proposed changes would:
amend Section 803.1 to add subsection (ee) as follows:
“(ee) Storefront Churches within Strip Mall Plazas and other like and/or similar structures. Storefronts Churches are restricted to two (2) within the zoning district.”
